Wassup!!!! Radio interview to be airing anyday now…Car Toys commercial already on the air in Seattle. WOW! Lots of good stuff happening. And just got my largest single payout from a job ever: Nutrisystem! Thank you Lord! Got some other fun stuff in the works, and it’s all making me so happy I could just pop! BOOM! There I go.
Voiceovers have proven to be the single most rewarding career I have ever had, by a mile. I have been an administrative assistant, telemarketer, radio promoter, desk clerk, office manager, project manager, service manager, entrepreneur, I’ve produced videos, filmed memorials and commercial gigs and dance recitals and weddings and Bar & Bat Mitzvahs, debutantes and quincinearas, duplicated DVD’s and CD’s, transferred videos, produced custom slideshows, done graphic & web design, done SEO, transferred film reel and audio reel, enhanced video and audio, blah blah blah. All of that has been a stepping stone to this. ESPECIALLY the entrepreneurship. I am SO grateful for all of the career paths that I’ve been on that have really helped refine me and prepare me both creatively (as a voice talent) and administatively (as a business owner). My wife likes to say “everything in the past has led to now…and I’m in love with now.” TOO TRUE! I’m IN LOVE with now. So grateful for voiceovers and for my career as a VO talent. God has richly blessed it and provided me such great success already! Everything is going so swimmingly well, I have zero complaints. Well…except when I get a sore throat and can’t record. Grrr. But then I can do a mean Emperor Palpatine voice during those times, at least. 🙂
What’s on the horizon? I don’t know. More big names? Sure. More clients? Absolutely. Great pay? Yep. Networking? Always. Workshops and assisting newbies in getting into the biz? FOR SURE. I’m having the ride of my life, it’s being blessed, and I’ve never been happier doing something. Each time I see an audition come across my desk that I can do, I buzz right across the hall into the studio in the guest room, and get crackin’. Each time I get awarded a job, I buzz right across the hall into the studio in the guest room, and get crackin’. I do it. I do it. I do it. All day long. I do it. I do it. I do it. Week in and week out. And the numbers show! It truly is a numbers game, always has been, always will be. But I’m developing repeat clients like 4Ocean that choose me because they’ve chosen me already, and I’ve produced, and they like working with me, because I’m reliable. Because I produce. Because I answer the call. Because I’m there for them. Because I turn it around in short order. Because I have great pricing. All of the above makes me a force to be reckoned with in the VO world, and I’ll keep doing it.
VO Atlanta is coming up in March, and I can’t wait to meet a whole slew of other reputable VO peeps. So grateful for what God has given me, and what He’s going to. Thank you Jesus. Happy almost birthday. 🙂
